One Silly Dog Just Can"t Figure Out How To Use The Patio Door. Maybe One Day.
This funny little dog has clearly had one too many “run-ins” with a closed door. Watch as the little guy stands outside the glass door to the terrace, waiting for his owners to open it and let him in, not realizing the door is already open.
Eventually, his owner decides to give the pup some help by pantomiming what he thinks should be happening:

Now, this is the kind of well-mannered dog that everyone would love to have! (That is, of course, he’s a vampire that just wasn’t invited into this house yet.)

This Horse Was Moments From Death, But An Amazing Rescue Saved It Just In Time.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals did it again! They were able to bring a speckled gray mare in Kent, England to safety. The horse was stuck in water that went up to its head, and was moments away from drowning. The rescue team received word that it was in trouble. They quickly made their way to the water’s edge, and used a harness and crane to pull the horse to safety. Take a look at the thrilling rescue below!
Wow. Looks like they got there just in time.
That’s one cooperative horse.
Most horses wouldn’t have had the strength to stand after such a strenuous day, but most horses also wouldn’t have lasted that long in the cold water. Luckily, this one had enough fat reserves to keep them warm and full of energy.

Thanks to the RSPCA, the horse was able to make a full recovery. Way to go, guys!

When An Injured Homeless Dog Was Rescued, She Had A Surprise For Her Rescuers.
Hope For Paws got a call about an injured dog living on the streets in a rough part of Los Angeles. The dog rarely came out of her hiding spot, except to look for food late at night, so it took Eldad Hagar and Lisa Chiarrelli a few nights of looking. They were told the dog was pregnant so they wanted to get to her as quickly as possible.
After hearing from a neighbor that the dog might be living in some bushes, they went exploring one night. They were able to quickly find her den in one particularly think bush. What they didn’t except to find was that the dog had given birth, and was there with all of her adorable newborn puppies.

What a sweetie Iris is, and her three puppies Seth, Nethaniel and Meg look just the cutest. Hopefully they’ll all find a forever home very soon.

These 7 Incredible Optical Illusions Will Change The World Before Your Eyes.
There’s nothing like a good optical illusion to give your brain a workout. The best illusions strike a balance of generating interest without causing frustration. And you know how frustrating some illusions can be…
With this in mind, I present to you 7 pleasant optical illusions that will disappear before you eyes if you look at them for too long. I know it sounds weird, but just wait until you try them out. #5 is too cool.
1.) Watch the little cross for long enough, and the dots will vanish.
2.) Keep an eye on one of the yellow dots and the other yellow dots vanish.
3.) If you stare at the red dot for long enough, the blue circle will disappear.
4.) The blue bars will fade away the longer you look at the black dot.
5.) Staring at the black cross will cause the pink dots to fade away. You may even see the pink dots replaced by green spots.
6.) Lock your eyes on the middle of this picture. It will disappear after a few seconds.
7.) The gray area fades away the longer you stare at the black dot.

Ouch! I think I need some aspirin after looking at these. It’s interesting how the human brain works and makes these things seem like they’re disappearing. If only I could do that with my roommate….

I Had No Idea What Turf Churches Were, Until I Saw This. They Are Awesome.
Turf roofed buildings were once common sights in Iceland. They were simple to construct and they insulated well against the harsh Icelandic winters. But as tastes changed, turf roofed buildings went out of style.
These stunning pictures are of the Hofskirkja Church, the last turf roofed church in Iceland. This beautiful construction blends seamlessly into the countryside. Check it out below.
The church is located in the village of Öræfi in Southern Iceland, about 18 miles east of Vatnajökull.
Hofskirkja Church was built in 1884 and dedicated to Saint Clement.
The walls of the church are made of rocks and heavily insulated to protect against the weather.
Turf houses were widespread in Iceland until the 20th century.
People at all levels of society, rich and poor, built turf houses.
Sadly, as tastes shifted, the knowledge of how to properly build a turf home was lost for many folks.
Some have kept the tradition alive by passing down their knowledge.
While they’re not the most “stylish” buildings, these turf roofed structures have a certain kind of Old World beauty to them.

I wonder if turf roofing could catch on over here in America. It seems like a very green way to keep your home warm. I would love to live in one of these clever little homes.
