Zoe Butler was just trying to make lunch when she received the shock of a lifetime. The 28-year-old mother of two in the U.K. opened a seemingly ordinary can of Princes tuna. However, instead of just containing fish chunks as advertised, there was one extra mystery ingredient….
Some sort of small, gross, purpleish creature was starring right at Butler when she opened the can.
“I opened the top of the lid and saw a purple thing, a gut sack or intestine,” said Butler. “Then I turned it round and pushed it with a fork and saw it looking back at me.”
Needless to say, the gross surprise ruined Butler’s lunch and sent her screaming. She returned to the supermarket where she bought the can, and they contacted the manufacturer.
A spokesperson for Princes said they were looking into the mystery creature. “We were contacted by Mrs Butler and immediately responded to apologize,” said the spokesperson. “We are arranging for her to send us the product so that we can look into this matter fully.”
Experts believe that the mystery creature might be some sort of juvenile crab. The specimen has been sent off to a lab for testing to know for sure.

Tuna is already kind of gross, and this story did not increase my appetite for the stuff. I hope they get to the bottom of this disgusting mystery.
