These Awesome Sketches Were Drawn On Paper, But They Look Like 3D Images.

The coolest art can often be the most simple. Well, at least it seems simple at first glance.


Artist João Carvalho created these awesome sketches that mess with viewers’ perceptions with optical illusions. Normally, we think of sketch art as simple and straightforward — the sort of “bare-bones” of artistic depiction. Carvalho’s work goes to show how artists can take simple techniques like shading and use them for something new and creative.

Is it weird that I think these 3D sketches are much cooler than 3D movies? Because they totally are.
